Cambridge University Chamber Choir performing at the Yale International Choral Festival

Cambridge University Chamber Choir (CUCC) is a recent addition to the CUMS ‘family’ of ensembles. Directed by Martin Ennis and David Lowe, the mission of the ensemble is to provide the best student singers with the opportunity to perform at the highest possible level repertoire that is not usually undertaken by the Cambridge chapel choirs. Accordingly, there is an emphasis on secular music and on repertoire that offers singers the chance to appear as soloists or in small groups. Although the new chamber choir often performs a cappella or accompanied by only keyboard instruments, it also performs on a regular basis with groups such as CUCO and the Faculty of Music’s Collegium Musicum (a period-instrument ensemble directed by Margaret Faultless).
