Sir Mark Elder conducts Cambridge University Orchestra

Sir Mark Elder will conduct Cambridge University Orchestra at 8pm this Saturday (2nd December) in King’s College Chapel. The programme includes Brahm’s Symphony No.1 and Debussy’s Première Rhapsody with soloist Sergio Castillo-Lopez. Israel in Egypt

Over at Saffron Hall on Saturday 25 November, the Symphony Chorus are performing Handel’s Israel in Egypt – tickets are still available from Saffron Hall directly.

Beethoven Piano Concerto No.3

Nuits d’Afrique: The music of Judith Weir

Coming up soon: a concert of new music, including compositions from members of the Faculty of Music here in Cambridge, in the intimate setting of St John’s Old Divinity School. There is a pre-concert talk with Judith Weir herself, and tickets include a glass of wine in the interval. More info here.

Grieg Piano Concerto

We look forward to our first Cambridge University Sinfonia concert on Saturday. Natalia Luis-Bassa will conduct our newly formed orchestra through Tchaikovsky’s triumphant Fifth Symphony and Grieg’s Piano Concerto with CUMS Concerto Competition prize-winner Toby Hession. Season Launch Concert

Our first concert of the season is on Saturday, where Tom Poster will conduct and play alongside Cambridge University Orchestra. Programme to include fantastic works Mozart Piano Concerto No.21 and Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals. Tickets are still available – you can get them here.
