CUMS Concerts and Marketing Assistant

Cambridge University Musical Society seeks a Concerts Assistant and Marketing Assistant.

CUMS has had a very successful year, with highlights including Verdi’s Requiem in King’s College Chapel, Brahms’ Symphony No.1 conducted by Sir Mark Elder, and the 30th Anniversary of the Cambridge University Wind Orchestra. The Society is now seeking to fill two roles, either with one person working full-time or with two people working on a part-time basis:

Marketing Assistant — 3 days per week — the purpose of which is to support the Society’s marketing and fundraising work.

Concerts Assistant — 2 days per week — the purpose of which is to support the operations of the Cambridge University Orchestra and Cambridge University Sinfonia.

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience in marketing, fundraising and arts management, with training from industry professionals and working with world-famous conductors. Recent post-holders have gone on from CUMS to the Royal Opera House, Britten Sinfonia and the Philharmonia Orchestra. The successful candidate(s) will, ideally, have a musical background and will be a proactive and enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach. For the Marketing Assistant role, some previous relevant experience would be advantageous.
