Welcome to the Cambridge University Musical Society

Great Conductors

With a Chorus and three orchestras covering a range of musical standards and styles, CUMS caters for a diverse group of over 400 performing members. The Society includes many of the University's most talented musicians who are drawn by our 166-year tradition of excellence and our challenging concert programmes.

    One of the most distinguished university musical societies in the world.

  • CUMS I

    Cambridge's flagship symphony orchestra. Performs with distinguished guest conductors.

  • CUMS Chorus

    An ambitious choral society; performs with The Philharmonia Orchestra in King's College Chapel and the Royal Albert Hall.

  • CUMS II

    A friendly, high-achieving symphony orchestra directed by some of Cambridge's finest undergraduate conductors.

  • CUWO

    The University Wind Orchestra, and undoubtably one of the best in the country.

  • Cambridge College Choirs

    One of the world's leading large-scale choirs, made up of Cambridge choral scholars.

  • Music and Instrument Hire

    We have one of the largest collections of percussion of any University, and also extensive orchestral parts available for hire.
